Hey y’all! So recently I flattened out an EOS lip balm which I was pretty impressed with seeing as I’ve never been able to keep track of a lip balm long enough to finish it before. The one I finished is the Medicated Tangerine and it is my absolute favorite! Its got a nice fruity scent, it is exceptionally moisturizing and feels really nice on the lips.
As the balm has gotten lower and lower, I had been contemplating what to do because how could you throw away those cute little eggs? There seemed to be some use I could get out of it so, I started scraping and found that the base is a weird little wheel thing. I would recommend having a small empty container when you do this because there is a surprising amount of balm left over, and there’s no reason to waste it.

Wooden stick, cleaned out EOS, plastic wheel that was removed from the balm, left over balm, cuticle scissors
I’m sure you could find more sophisticated tools to use, but I live in a shoebox (the joys of a sorority house), so I just used what I had lying around which was:
-wooden stick
-old cuticle scissors
-wipe
-finished EOS balm
1. Start by scraping out the top with a stick, knife, anything. You’ll start to hit plastic and when that happens just push the balm through the gaps.
2. Use scissors to cut each spoke and remove the wheel.
3. Collect the left over balm and put it in a small container to continue using!
4. Use a wipe, napkin, paper towel, whatever to clean it out and you’re done!
Obviously, I had travel in mind, and these will be perfect to put lotions, liquid makeup, etc. in for my carry-on. They’re also the perfect size for small jewelry. In the picture, I have two pairs of earrings and a necklace and there is still plenty of room for more small pieces.
There are endless ways to re-use these pots. Comment below with other ideas of how to use your recycled EOS balms!
This is so clever and promotes environmental conservation! Bravo I have to do this with the next Esos I finish!
I use mine as a pill case for my purse. So much better than a whole Tylenol bottle.
I was trying to figure out how to recycle my Eos container and found this post. Great idea 🙂 Thanks!

This is such a great idea for recycling those adorable eos lip balm containers! Keep your jewelry safe and untangled while you travel or just keep it organized on your dresser. Shop eos at My Pretty Face Place here: http://www.myprettyfaceplace.com/eos/
Other ideas:
-Use as a pill case
-Buy mints in bulk and take a little bit at a time with you in the EOS container
-Fill with office supplies to keep at your desk (push pins, paper clips, etc.)
-Keep some coins in the EOS container for your car or purse
-Buy small candies (like M&M’s) in bulk and fill the EOS container (for children or to limit yourself!)
I’m currently using this as an eye makeup remover holder in my purse! It clears up a lot of clutter and doesn’t spill! Thank you so much for this :]
